Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have just bought this controller, but it is not supported with VDJ Pro Full 7.0.5.

Will there soon come an official patch fixing this, or maybe someone could put a mapping in plugins>controllers?

Kind Regards
Jon Aril

Sorry, the Reloop DigitalJockey 3 is not currently natively supported (Plug 'n' play) in the current version of VirtualDJ. It should be supported in a future version of the software.

In the meantime, you may be able to map it yourself via Simple MIDI Wrapper or create your own mapper/definition for it - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html for further information.

NOTE: We cannot confirm or disclose what features will or will not be present in the next version. Details about future versions of VirtualDJ are not made public prior to release.

Okay another problem is that only the sound card is "shown" and ready for use. The only midi shown is "Simple MIDI wrapper" when I connect the controller, and then i thought i could just assign each button, but nothing happens when i press the green plus-botton and try to use a controller-button. Is it then about the thing called a definition file?

And is it possible for you to tell when the next update of the software will be around?

Kind regards
Jon Aril

You will need to choose Simple MIDI wrapper, then press +, press a button and assign it to the appropriate action in VirtualDJ.

See http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4149/VDJscript_Mapping.html

You may also need to install the drivers for the Reloop.

Sorry, we do not publicly set or give out release dates for future updates to VirtualDJ. This is to avoid disappointment should it not be possible to meet the deadline for any reason. The next version of VirtualDJ will be released once it has been finished and fully tested.

Also, we cannot tell you what features will or will not be included in the next or future versions of VirtualDJ. Details of future updates are not disclosed prior to public release to avoid disappointment should it not be possible to include the feature for any reason.

Okay now the controller is reacting after i tried on my other pc, and then moved the mapping file to my macbook. Then i have starting mapping buttons and so on, but a few issues. The jogwheels act as buttons, the pitchfader, goes the opposite way than in Virtual DJ, and the knobs than can turn around again and again do not work. Any mapping/definition advice for these things? and also the VU-meters and the LEDs in all buttons dont work properly, although I guess thats not something that i can do that much about until an official mapper gets out. But that is not an issue for me atm, i just want to be able to map the jogs etc. :) so any advice?

Kind regards

for the jogwheel you need to make sure you have your hand on the touch sensitive part, press "key learn" then release the jog and map it as "deck 1 touchwheel_touch", do the same again but don't release the touch platter, turn the jog instead, then map "param_greater 50% ? deck 1 touchwheel +0.01 : deck 1 touchwheel -0.01"

for the pitch fader use "param_invert & deck 1 pitch_slider"

then repeat the mapping for deck 2,

good luck

Well, now the pitchsliders are good, the jogwheels ok,, thank you synthet1c! But still nothing to do with the knobs and also the track selector. Any suggestions on these?

And to make my own definition file, seems a bit too difficult for me, i guess i'll just wait for an official mapper ;)

chackl has done all the hard work for you... you just need to press add then move the slider/knob/button, assign it to a deck and name it... easy

http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/12994/VDJ_MIDI_Controll_Definer.html

for an endless encoder (browser knob) use

param_smaller 50% ? action for counter-clockwise : action for clockwise

eg. param_smaller 50% ? browser_scroll -1 : browser_scroll +1

for the encoders with the rotary leds it will be the same, but even if you make a definition file I doubt the leds will be supported, but everything else (knobs/sliders/buttons/leds) should be fine with a definition file.

Thanks very much.

another mapping i cannot figure out: when i want to map the parameter 1 and 2 and so on, i don't know what to put after "param_smaller 50% ?".

Can you help me with this?

Kind regards

Hi, just bought the Reloop Digital Jockey 3 ME. Thanks for all the notes you have posted for this thread, a great help for me during setup. Keep the tips coming and I may return with some questions of my own :-)

Hi guys, a quick question for you. I have followed all advice posted so far and all is fine. Would though like to adjust the master/cue fader/knob. At the moment at full over on cue, I can still hear app. 50% og my master output. I prefer 100 % cue or 100% master, seperable by the fader or knob. I look in the midi mapping, but there are'nt any parameters that can be altered from 50% to 100%/0% or whatever I need.
Anyone any ideas?
Can't wait for the firmware patch to come .....

Somebody knows the exact hexadecimal value of the vu-meters of this controller?
The Midi table in the manual is wrong.
Thank you.

"midi ox" is your friend for finding out the midi on signal for the vu meters...

@jon

param_smaller 50% ? effect slider 1 -1 : effect slider 1 +1

I found the correct address, but something goes bad.
I create in the definition file this string
<bar note="0x1B" channel="0" min="0x01" max="0x10" nb="10" name="VU_METER_A" deck="1" />
Using this string for the command "get level" the four bars of the four FX encoders works as vu-meters, the load button lights (have the same address of vu-meters bars) and the entire bar meter flash sometimes.
Maybe there's a problem in the firmware.
Thank you.

You need to remove nb="10" - This means to use 10 consecutive MIDI notes, one for each element of the bar graph.

If it's a single MIDI note with a value (Velocity) between 1 and 10, then you need:

<led note="0x1B" channel="0" min="0x01" max="0x10" name="VU_METER_A" deck="1" />

(If 0x00 means off, then you should set min="0x00")

I used that string without success, I copy and paste what says the manual about led meters, so you can try to understand wich is the right string.
But maybe the problem is that, for reason I don't understand, level meters and load buttons have the same midi out. When for example I assign "get vu_meter_left the button lights.
The level meters have 10 leds.
Thank you very much.

LEVEL LED (LEVEL)
These messages are used for LEVEL.
Control Change messages are sent with status 0x9n, LED Off value is 0x00 and On value is related
to LED amount, 0x01 with one LED, 0x02 with two LED…., where n is the channel.

Mensajes Mon 12 Sep 11 @ 12:52 am
The info in the manual may be incorrect.

The above statement if copied word for word is incorrect because 0x9n is a MIDI note, not a Control Change (CC, 0xBn) message.

If it is a CC, then you would need something like:

<bar cc="0x1B" channel="0" min="0x00" max="0x10" name="VU_METER_A" deck="1" />

Otherwise, you would need:

<led note="0x1B" channel="0" min="0x00" max="0x10" name="VU_METER_A" deck="1" />

0x1B might not be the correct number for the note or CC - If it lights the wrong LED, you will need to experiment with different values to find the correct one.

NOTE: A CC (0xBn) and note (0x9n) can have the same number, they are two separate types of MIDI message. Also, LED's are MIDI input (From VirtualDJ to the device), whereas buttons, etc. are output (Device to VirtualDJ), so the two are separate from each other. Typically a button's LED will have the same MIDI note number as what the button sends when pressed.

You are right, the manual's informations was wrong, the right address of the two level meters are note 00x21 and note 00x22.
Now led meters works correctly.
Thank you for patience.

Hello I have another issue, I have some problems to map the led bars of these encoders
http://www.digitaljockey.it/dij/images/stories/Reloop/Jockey3/reloop_jockey3_003.jpg
The features assigned was effect select and effect slider 1,2,3 and everything works good.

The string for these led bars is this
<bar note="0x1E" channel="0" name="FX_P1_BAR_A_34" deck="1" />
or this, no difference
<bar note="0x1E" channel="0" min="0x00" max="0x10" name="FX_P1_BAR_A_34" deck="1" />

The string in the mapper is this
<map value="FX_P1_BAR_A_34" action="effect slider 1" />

When I rotate forward the encoder from zero position on the screen, the leds light up progressively as expected, but when I rotate backward the leds remain lit. If I rotate backward going to zero position on the screen and rotate once more forward, leds are off and restart to light up progressively.
I do something wrong?
