Tópico: Pre-Wedding DJ jitters

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Going through my gear, checking lights, making sure sound files are where I can find them. Other than that, getting pre-wedding jitters. I'll be this way until I'm set-up and have sound and lights. I'm 98% sure things will be good, but I always get nervous. What do you more seasoned guys do about this?

Just remember it's not you that's getting married ;).

Take deep breaths, keep cool amigo! Things will be fine, sounds like you covered all the bases. Preparation is the key to a good wedding reception. Let us know how it turns out.

Another thing I've been working on, is loading slower. Making sure I have everything. Don't let myself get into a situation where I'm in a hurry and not thinking. I also think in systems when I load. In my head, things fall into systems like, lights, sound, special effects electrical, games material. Makes loading much easier.

Even easier when all of that crap stays in the trailer.
If I didn't have that with me, I'd freak out.
And I now carry a spare tire....that was fun and fortunately on the return trip.

Create a wedding checklist. List all equipment you need to bring and everything you need to do. When you check all items you will know that everything is under control.

30 years and I still get jitters. But once the I start the music I'm in the zone and all is good.
Buy top shelf equipment amps and speakers. You'll have them the longest time anyway.
Owning a tailler and garage to park it is life changing.

Always bring back ups

I smoke crack and sniff a little meth, that calms me down. I have a big one coming up this Sunday, and I still get nervous. Once I get dressed, it's on. I turn into A Man & His Music.

i do wedding all the tyme, and i still get nervous all the tyme. i guess it just happens

2 things I get nervous about.

Equipment failure & MC'ing. Only way I calm my nerves is make sure my backup equipment is working. The other is making sure I pronounce the correct names... I start to get names mixed up after doing them for a while lol.
