Tópico: VIRTUAL DJ AND YOUTUBE SUPPORT PLEASE HELP!!!

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Ok so im completely new to djing and Ive run into a little bit of trouble. Ive done local parties and what not for friends to get the word out but im trying to spread my mixes across the internet. For example I have virtual dj 7 (Basic) and a short simple 5 song mix. I use the recording feature on the program to record the audio that i begin to play with samples and other dowloaded effects and I end the recording as an MP3. I make a video with Windows Movie Maker link up the audio and post it on youtube to get the word out and show people what I can do. My video then got blocked for UMG Contenrt type: Sound Recording. and has been blocked in every country so noone can view it. How do I record a mix and post it on youtube without blockage or any other type of problem? <-----(TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT) PLEASE HELP A.S.A.P. Thanks In Advance ~New Guy

The music that you used for the mixes, was it your original music, or was it other artist music? Did You get their permission to use their music?

There are a few things that you can do in the future that may help keep your mix open in Youtube, first off you make a disclaimer saying that you have no rights to the audio or visual side to the music and the second one is an old favourite added to the above "for educational purposes only"

These may help, but not always guaranteed to work, don't worry your not the only or last person that will have work blocked by Youtube, remember they have to cover their backs as well.

Try Vimeo instead, they are a little more understanding of the artistic purpose of hosting.
500mb per week free which gives you plenty of room to show your skills.

Is this a video of you performing, or just an audio mix with a slideshow or similar?

If it's an audio mix, YouTube is not really the place - it's a video site!

Try somewhere like Soundcloud, or there are 'DJ mix' specific sites - mixcrate.com, house-mixes.com and so on.

The Mix is a slide show with the mix as the audio. The music I used was from the popular artististic duo " LMFAO" that I purchased from iTunes. Ill defininetely checkout soundcloud and the other sites you guys have suggested. How do i do the disclaimer thing? lol
