Hi!

I got a new DV7 recently with the 6770M card --- Does your laptop have duel graphics? meaning an Intel GPU and a AMD GPU? there were some issues with the HPs and switching to the AMD Gpu rather than the low power one -- i had to update my Bios before i got everything working correctly. I can give you the link to HP to download the bios and such if you need it. :)

Also make sure that you turn off the Aero theme in windows :) Have you read and done any of the Tweaks to your system? I know we have super powerful systems, but these tweaks can make a big difference in performance -- for example another big one is telling windows to Adjust for Best performance and not for best appearance in your system properties under performance options.

Also BTW -- one thing to get more people to help you quicker --

Register your product --
<---------look over there

Pep's respond quicker when they know you actually own it :)

How'd it go? Did the bios update fix it?? Also - don't forget after you update the bios to update BOTH video drivers -- i forgot to do the Intel ones and it seemed to add to the issue... :)

I've firgured out the problem with the video on the new laptops, go into setting and click on video, then uncheck
- Use Hardware Acceleration - videos now play properly!

@ MJ177 I did the bios update and checked the video drivers I have the lastest, and still having the problem :( I even disabled windows aero and still no change.. I plan on buying the full version onuce I know this works for my computer so for now am using the 7.0.5 Home. Did you have to configure or change anything in the bios after you downloaded it?

If you do this then video effects and transitions that rely on accelerated video functions will not work.

Ideally you need to fix the problem, which unfortunately for recent ATI and other cards with similar issues is only possible with a driver/firmware update from the manufacturer (If available.)
