Tópico: Where to get a snake?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi.

I need 2 50ft xlr snakes (No breakout box)

This has been impossible to find so far. I "could" make them myself but I can't solder to save me life.

if I could purchase what I need, I would be pretty happy.

Any ideas?

Are these for your speakers?

Yep....

What's happening is, i'm lazy. lol

I have my powered system. 2 powered subs, 2 powered tops. They sound good coming straight from the mixer but sound GREAT going from the mixer to the Driverack to the Sonic Maximizer.

I want to have 2 50ft leads that stay connected to the driverack that I can simply take out and run to the powered speakers. I already have leads for my inputs. If I have two 2ch XLR snakes, I can simply run each snake to each stack of speakers. Of course I could simply use 4 regular XLR's but they are kinda thick and bulky for my purposes.

The Furman I have is deep so I can not use a shallow rack. I have to use a standard amp rack. The driverack is shallow and is NOT easy to get to in the rack in the dark. That's why I want to have the XLR's stay plugged into the driverack. I don't want to use a XLR plate mostly because i'm lazy and don't want to constantly plug and unplug on both ends.

Snake XLR's are MUCH thinner and more flexible. I can keep the cables plugged into the driverack and simply run them out to the stacks.

City - you are going to be hard pressed to find a 50ft 2 channel 'snake' setup. You are better at just getting some 'short' cables that easily brings your connection points closer to you in your rack. I picked up some short cables a while back for this same reason.

But, I don't think you are going to find any 2 channel snakes out there.

I think you are right. I guess i will just have to make them myself. I don't know where to find the actual cable though.

If I can find my original order I will post it here - I actually pick some very nice well made one up a couple years ago -- and I even got them in different colors :)

You don't really need to,if you buy the right connectors. Nutrick, I believe, makes a solder-less XLR, male and female, connector. Do a google search for it.
