So recently got the Hercules RMX and have the software installed and the controller working fine. Although when I open VDJ 5 I get about 5 minutes into a song and the sound goes off and starts crackling and becomes unlistenable (definitely not a word lol)
I was hoping someone could help me out, do I need to do something with my sound card? I have the latest updates installed. It's just weird that it starts off fine and then goes off with the crackling. It's not my speakers as I have connected my headphones and other speakers with it and it still does it.
Any help would be awesome! Pumped to play around with the RMX but not sounding like this.
Cheers.

Skipping, stuttering, crackling and other sound break-up/glitches are normally caused by performance issues with your computer and/or incorrect configuration in VirtualDJ.

You mention that you are using the latest driver.
So I guess you have the Hercules DJ Console Series - 2011_HDJS_4 package.
Do you still have the previous driver?
If so, deinstall the latest driver, reboot and install the previous.
I have had the same issue you described with the latest driver on Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit, HP 6910P.
I reimaged the laptop, but as soon as I used the latest driver after playing one song, the sound was horrible, cracking.
I downgraded to the previous driver and everything was OK.
Upgraded again and it turned terrible again, so I have downgraded again.
I called the Hercules Support line to inform them about my findings and if they had seen more problems with this driver, according to them I was number 5 with that issue, so on some systems the latest driver causes some issues.
Therefore when you upgrade always keep a copy of the previous driver.
And never upgrade before a Gig not even Virtual DJ.

Hi guys,
-my first posting, please be gentle . . .
Have you managed to find a resolution for it as i am having the same issues as you??
something that i just saw was that if you go into properties of VDJ, you can run compatabilty mode to XP....
i still need to test it out for myself(when i get my Hercs back from my cousin),
Have a go and see if it work..
can you please post re the outcome.....
Happy new year

If you resize or maximise the skin then it can lead to increased CPU usage (And sound glitches as a result because your computer can't keep up.)
This is because VirtualDJ must scale the skin to the new size on the fly, which depending on your computer's specification and video card 2D capabilities may be too much workload for it.
Ideally you need to use the skin at its correct native size or download one from http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/skins.html that matches your screen resolution (LE users will need to upgrade to the full Pro at a discount to be able to use custom skins: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html )
