Tópico: Another Controller Question

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Based in the UK, my current setup is a DAC3, DN-X500 and a Gigaport HD. Looking to upgrade to an all in one system. Must haves are native support with VDJ, mic input deally with equaliser, inbuilt sound card able to connect to various house systems which could be standard RCA or balanced outputs, ideally be able to have 4 deck control, but most importantly good quality and durability.

I dont need timecode and I'm not a scratch DJ, I play mainly commercial house music so general beat mixing.

My problem is that I am on a budget and will probably be looking second hand and will most likely sell on my current kit to help fund the purchase. I'm looking to really spend no more than £300...

Narrowed down to the following:

VCI 300 Mk 2 - durability?

VMS4 - I have serious doubts over the 'quality' of American Audio products.

Numark N4 - looks interesting and would stretch my budget a bit as buying new would be the only option. Again quality of Numark generally is a bit of a concern but I might have an outdated view on this.

Xone DX - seen a couple come up second hand around my budget, supported by VDJ?

MC6000 - looks fantastic but unlikely in my budget?

Pioneer DDJ Ergo - Really cant bring myself to like the look of this although I'm sure the quality will be good, beyond my budget anyway.

Any other suggestions or advice on the above? I DJ at least twice a week, often 3 times a week so must be a professional bit of kit...

Your main problem is that you want "professional" but you're only prepared to spend £300!

Anyway, out of the ones you listed I'd go with the Xone DX. Firstly it's by A&H, second it's now only £500.

The Ergo doesn't have EQ on the mic, which unfortunately is quite common, even on some higher end products.

Some people have found issues with ASIO on the MC6000, getting pops clicks etc. and having to run it with WDM drivers. Not good.

VMS4 don't even go there - but you should be OK with the new VMS4.1 as it's fixed the issues with the original.

If its a case of 'buy cheap, buy twice' then I'm better off waiting and getting more money. My current kit, although a bit dated, all works well so I'm not really in any hurry.

Got to say the Xone DX does look good value. Is is well supported in VDJ?

it isn't supported by vdj, a user cesarcastillo is currently in the process of creating a mapper for it, it will be as good as being supported, from the effort he is putting into it. I doesn't sound like he is too far off, as he is just finishing the multi colored leds at the moment.

It's MIDI, so it's supported. Any MIDI controller will work with VDJ.

There's a Xone DX mapper in the download area to get you started.

You could just use that and keep all the assignments, or use it as a starting point and change the bits you don't like/want/need.

Hello,how can i use pcdj DAC-2 with VDJ 7 ?
