Thanks t! It will be used for audio only.
Specs are
Win 7 home premium 64 bit
4gb Ram
500gb hdd
3 usb ports
I Figured 2 usb for cdjs would be used
And a small hub for cooling fan and extenal hdd
Dont forsee any issues with that set up eh?

Should be fine...You don't mention if u plan on mixing vids too or just audio....Specs might be a bit low for video mixing, but I've got
basically your same setup, and VDJ runs flawlessly. Just for fun I wondered how hard I could push this setup. I've got a dual-core, 2ghz AMD
processor with 4G RAM and can even run VDJ and multiple instances of streaming videos in Firefox, off the web, at the SAME TIME and notice
zero hiccups....Might be worth it to find a lappy with at least one USB 3 port, since that is the newest technology and the way
everything is headed. If it is a new machine though, it probably already will come with one....lolol....Good luck. Let us know how things turn
out.... =D

Gentlemen? Merry Christmas ! you wimps
it is fine for audio , i wouldn't do video with it......
the tricky part for video is ....lotsa lappy's nowadays have 4 gb ram which seems like a lot of ram to
many people used to 1 or 2 gb(ram) ...... so i guess you could say it's possible to have a decent lappy that isn't
good for video .....for video you need 6 gb of ram PLUS at least a mediocre graphic card .......
for a desktop you could easily purchase that for $800 or less
but a laptop probably $1300 or more ......
i'm sure there is probably an exception or 2 to my rule ..... but that's my catastrophe , and i'm proud of it ........

You do not need 6gb of RAM for video.
I do HD with less.

Here are the "official" important specs...
•Intel® Pentium® Processor B940
•Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
•4GB DDR3 1333MHz memory
•Intel® Integrated Graphics
•500GB HDD (5400rpm)
This laptop will be used for AUDIO only with 2 Pioneer CDJ 900s or 2000s. Now anyone see any potential issues with this? :-) I can take it back as long as I do not open the box.

Personally I never buy a laptop without a DPC check first. Its critical for audio.
Mensajes Sat 24 Dec 11 @ 2:51 pm
how could you do a DPC without having bought it?

Merry Christmas SBDJ !
i haven't had good results with a 4 gb ram laptop so far ....
i don't know as much about computers and audio as you do ,
so i'm sure you can get better results than i can

I always get them to run it and provide the results. No one has said no yet, and several vendors have been surprised at the results too!

Just be conscious of USB3 ports. They are good for extenal hard drives, but be warned many controllers will struggle with USB3. I faced that problem with my laptop which has 2 such ports and my MC6000!
