Maybe you guys could help me out, I'm looking for an all-in-one dvr. Something I could put like a 32gig SD card into add record or capture my screen with sound. I have one now but its a big bulky unit (the size of a standard DVD player).

Any info or links would be great

Smaller than a dvd player? Look into media center computers. I'm on my phone, so I can't add a link for you right now, but I believe Sony and Dell both make media center computers that are pretty compact.

So with this I can either use a flash/thumb drive or install a HD internally and record that way!! This is nice........

Is there any solution with HDMI or VGA input? This looks nice, but you'll need a hardware converter if there's no component or S-video out in your computer...
 
Been a fan of Fraps for years...and now again after dropping my dvd recorder.
They have since upped the capture to 2560x1600.

Much easier to edit and render also, and a whole lot cheaper.

As for converters, I've had good success with this device here.
 
Nice Rick!! FRAPS is my new best friend, lol!! Its the best 37 dollars Ive spent in awhile, lol! Yeah I also have that adaptor already, another one of your fine suggestions.

Anytime, it's always been trial and error with video.
That was a score a while ago, and much better now, and the licensing is so simple for updates that are still free.

Interesting enough, the avi quality is incredible over what I remember.
They also have a free demo, don't think you can get the frame rate off the capture though.

You're right, worth every penny.
