Tópico: A hardware suggestion for Djs who mix video

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I just purchased the 17" Macbook pro with the 2.5ghz processor and then spent the extra $150+ to buy the 16gig after market RAM upgrade kit.

That macbook pro running Virtual Dj Pro with the Denon 6000 controller just absolutely kills it! It's poetry in motion.

Processor never really gets above 8% utilization and with 16gigs of RAM, the laptop is probably asleep while I'm mixing in Virtual Dj.

It's definitely some $$ to get the Macbook and set it up right with the RAM and the Denon 6000 but it's worth it.

For the record, I have a new HP laptop (2 months old) with 8gigs RAM and good specs and I also have a 2009 13" Macbook Pro with 4 gigs RAM but they both suck running Virtual Dj compared to this new 17" Macbook Pro.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Smooth

Thanks for the tip! That might be the next upgrade I'll be looking forward to. But honestly, I am doing fine with my MBP 15" with 8GB RAM.

Would be interesting to know what the specs of a high end laptop was when VDJ first came to market?

do u mix video at its fullest .2 deck playin video and the clip bank and or the firetext pluginn? at least and what kind prossesor is on it you only said the speed and also what graphic card and how many memory because they have diff macs 17

I'm just mixing videos at their normal resolution; no special effects such as firetext although i'd gladly pay money for a simple scrolling text for the mac.
