I'm trying to download the Mixlab skin, but I am met with a message saying that my 'current licenses do not allow me' to download it. All I want is a skin with a bassline crossfader.

You haven't blown anything: according to >>THIS<< you should be entitled to download skins. Check your profile (Modify my profile, scroll down a little) if your Basic-version is mentioned. If not try to enter your serial number and click Register. If that doesn't work, submit a ticket under Support/Help and have support take a look at your problem.

I'm sure you should be able to download skins with Pro basic.

Make sure that you are currently logged into the VirtualDJ website/forums before trying to download, otherwise you will not have permission.
It's also possible that you were trying to download before you had registered your Pro Basic serial number to your profile (You have done this now, so should be OK.)
