Hello everyone!
So, basically I want to record my mixes from my external mixer (DJM400) thru Line-in of my laptop soundcard. I'm not going to use any 3rd party software like Audacity, Soundforge, etc. I just want to use "Record Audio" in Record tab of VDJ program.
I'm having a hard time configuring the "Sound Setup" tab in VDJ particularly in "Advanced config" in the "output" section.
Can someone please help me?
My equipment:
VDJ Pro 7.0.5b
2 x CDJ400
1 x DJM400
Laptop
Happy Mixing!

I was having some recording issues so i got audacity just for better quality then what i was getn through vdj but what if you came out of your mixer into laptop mic jack open a deck as a line coming in so your mix played through that deck and hit record on that deck when you stop the recording the file should pop up on that deck to play? let me know if troubled by quality of recording.

Hello DJEZUP,
Thanks for your suggestion. I Don't have a problem recording my mixes when I was using VDJ 6 before, its just that VDJ 7 recording configuration was changed.
I don't understand what you're saying about this deck, that deck...

Do you use timecode?
Do you have a sound card(external)?

I c you have a hercules. If it does not have individual deck outs it wont work. You will have to X out the djm. If it does then you can set it like this:
deck1 Hercules out 1(connect to the djm channel A)
deck2 Hercules out 2(connect to djm channel B
timecode1 Hercules in 1(connect to In A on Hercules)
timecode2 Hercules in 2(connect to In B on Hercules)
master Hercules main out(to monitoring system)or use the out on your DJM
record loopback primary capture device(to mic input on laptop)
deck1 Hercules out 1(connect to the djm channel A)
deck2 Hercules out 2(connect to djm channel B
timecode1 Hercules in 1(connect to In A on Hercules)
timecode2 Hercules in 2(connect to In B on Hercules)
master Hercules main out(to monitoring system)or use the out on your DJM
record loopback primary capture device(to mic input on laptop)

Hi durdeesmurdee,
I don't use timecode as my CDJ400s are MIDI/HID controller and has built-in soundcard that can run VDJ Software.
What I need to know is how to configure the "Advanced Config" in the Sound Setup tab of VDJ 7 to record my mixes from my external mixer (DJM400) to Line-in of my laptop.
Happy Mixing!

assign each 400 a deck I.E
deck1 400 output1(connect to the djm channel A)
deck2 400 output2(connect to the djm channel B)
assign "record loopback" to primary capture device(to mic input on laptop)
use one of the outs(on the DJM) to monitor and connect the other to the laptop Via Y cable
deck1 400 output1(connect to the djm channel A)
deck2 400 output2(connect to the djm channel B)
assign "record loopback" to primary capture device(to mic input on laptop)
use one of the outs(on the DJM) to monitor and connect the other to the laptop Via Y cable

Ok, I will do this settings when I get home from work and will post the result. Thanks!

Not necessarily mapped but do the above and it should work. Try the first settings I posted.

ok, i got the sound fix but only one little problem now, deck 2 is playing and deck one is cued, volume down on deck 1 and i press play and deck 1 sounds in the recording...Grrrr.

You won't have the same issues. You all have the same set up, but you are using time codes. which means, you should have a 4in 4out sound card. Exactly what do you have? make and model? From what I just quoted you saying, it sounds as if you need to swap the settings around. You have to be willing to experiment.

Dam!!! I was writing for almost 2 hours about the result of my test in recording my mixes. Then, when I clicked "Save" Button, it didn't saved or upload my text coz it says that I was not logged-in..... NO! I WAS logged In when I was composing here! WTF!!!
Was there a Timeout when composing message???
But anyways, lets go back to topic. I tried maybe 5 sets of different combination including durdeesmurdee suggestion but, it didn't work :(
Guys, anymore suggestion? Please!
Happy Mixing!
