So this might not be the perfect forum for this, but I've been browsing these forums for months, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out.
Anyway, I've had VDJ and some controllers for about a year now, and I've been doing some gigs recently, but (and somehow this came as a surprise to me) people expect a mobile DJ to have speakers!
So with that, I've been looking into my cheapest (decent) options, and, knowing nothing on the subject, I need some advice.
Essentially, the two speaker pairs I'm contemplating are these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DI65XY/ref=gno_cart_title_1 and http://www.amazon.com/Speakers-Pro-Audio-Monitor-Karaoke/dp/B002AGUPV6/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1334543283&sr=1-1
With your experience in mind, do those seem decent? And of course, I'll need an amp, so will this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HJ997A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A1WRTEG7T8P2CK suffice?
Any help would be much appreciated!

best suggestion is for ACTIVE or POWERED speakers I prefer the Behringewr B215d's great product and makes a light rig/setup for the mobile jock ........
Oh and get stands for them they sound SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo much better in the air as opposed to the floor

There are many threads concerning choice of speakers on these forums, putting a search in for "speakers" may also get you a lot of information you require.

if your looking for Budget and good sound at the same time, Check out The Mackie Thump Series TH-15A. They are Not that loud but loud enough for small parties. Look on Amazon, Craigslist etc to see who has them for the lowest. Spending 400-500 for two speakers is not worth buying unless you get a crazy deal for a good pair that cost alot more.

Did you say you were surprised to find out that people expect a mobile DJ to have speakers? If so, then what equipment did you expect to use?

I agree with the suggestion of a pair of Behringer B215D. I own a pair and use it for my smaller mobile gigs. I also use one as a monitor in my club gigs from time to time. Best bang for the buck. The Mackie Thumps are nice too. They have a bit more base than the Behringers.
