Tópico: is this the right place for me?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

About myself:
* passionate about music but don't know how to play any instrument.
* a good listener and always wanted to be a part of musical event.
* I'm not sure if its too late for me to start from the scratch.
* I don't have a high end dream to play a gig for wide audience.
* However, I just want to make sure that I play/transition the remixed songs w/o ruining the mood of the folks in the dance floor.

Furthermore, this is my plan:
- Get an ipad 3 and install Virtual Dj ( VirtualDj Home Free ) for now.
- Will buy a list of my favorite songs ( esp already remixed ones).
- Transition of one song with another smoothly ( relatively same BPM songs).
- Play these set of songs and getting used to of VirtualDj Software.

I'm here for your honest opinion/suggestion not for any discouraging perverts.

~ TIA

your probably better off getting a controller instead of the ipad as you have much more control over the parameters with tactile controls, touch screens are not intuative at all as there is no feeling associated with them...

mixtrack pro is a pretty safe bet that's good to learn the basics on, and djing is very easy to pick up the basics, if you are thinking of taking it further it all comes down to knowing your music and your crowd...

Yeah I agree, if your starting out and would like to get to know and really learn Virtual Dj -Mixtrack is the place to start. If you can dominate basic mixing with that, you'll crawl up the latter for your next equipment purchase. :)

That won't work anyway. You can remote-control VDJ with an iPad, but VDJ needs to be installed on a Windows- or Mac-computer.

In a word...

Yes

Thanks synthet1c, Dj Arum, Martin FourS , djcity for your concerns/suggestion.

- Seems like mixtrack pro is a real instrument/hardware controller for which there is a corresponding software controller i.e VirtualDj.
- I also found a good video regarding miixtrack along w/ Virtual DJ for ex - http://youtu.be/s5wKPs7sHJ0
- I may sound like a complete naive w.r.t these DJing technical jargon but that's how I want to improve myself and learn new stuffs.
- My next goal: buy Mixtrack Pro and hook it up with Virtual Dj. Lets see when I 'll do it.

Thanks
