I have two identical rigs. One main and one back up. They are Gateway laptops w/ Windows 7, external harddrives, and Vestax Typhoon controllers. i run VDJ 7 PRO. I have been using these systems since January and just recently started have major problems with both.
The controller on my main system would continue to play music but would not control any functions. Lights would be on, but the platters and control buttons would not do anything. Using the computer keyboard would not work either. Music played, video froze and none of the functions would work on either the laptop or controller. I could unplug the controller for 10 seconds plug it in and resume all functions. This happened every 15 minutes or so. The CPU bar showed 25-45% usage.
The second rig, tonight, locked up the same way as far as functions, but also stopped music and video output and locked the laptop up solid. It took a hard reboot and VDJ reinstall to come back on line. i have not plugged the controller back in after re-install. Not cool in the middle of a set.
I have swapped cables, controllers from system to system, wi-fi on and off and every setting change I can think of. I have re-compiled the dbase and cleaned up files. Any other ideas before these controllers become targets and VDJ goes away to OTS??
Thanks,
Jeff

I would suggest trying the Typhoons with Serato DJ Intro, to determine if your problems are being caused by:
The software (VDJ)
The computers
The controllers
