hey guys just curious if anyone has had any of their MTP buttons collapse? ive had my sync button collapse in the past, it went back to numark and got repaired, and now, on friday night, i was gigging a party mixing hardcore with 4 decks and have now got 2 coollapsed cue buttons. it seems that either, i have a touch like an elephant, or the MTP buttons are very weak. they both broke while tapping the beat in and i ended up having to tap in my beats with the laptop keyboard instead. this was very annoying ...

That Sir is what's refered to as planned obsolescence. Companies buy plastics that can only last a couple of years before becoming brittle and breaking, meaning you have no more warranty and need to upgrade... everyone wins! ...wait a minute something about that last bit seems wrong!

Well I've got a DJM-500 I bought in 1999 and used hundreds and hundreds of times. Nothing is broken at all, still looks perfect and works like it did the day I got it.
I seem to remember the buttons on the CDN-34 being a bit temperamental round about 1998/9 when I worked in a large venue and I've never had anything made by Numark since. Do Numark still use those plastic buttons instead of rubber ones?

yes keith they do still use plastic... and it would seem that its cheap plastic at that. i considering when i get it back "again" im thinking open it up myself and do some proper plastic welding on the frame work of the button to strengthen them..
