Just starting to use VDJ 7.0.5b at live events. I notice a hiccup when I start typing in the search box. Yes - my laptop is a little underpowered but otherwise was working fine. Current specs on laptop, Acer Ferrari 4000 with a 1.6 GHz AMD processor with 512 mgs RAM.
I am trying to replace the RAM with 2 GB. VDJ is now sluggish when hitting the play button, almost 1 second. Even the video is not sync'd up with the audio. (Same video will play fine in Windows media player.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rick

What video card does the machine have. A quick google seems to indicate a Radeon X700?
The WMP player comparison is irrelevant as it's an entirely different process.

Yes it's the Radeon Card, but video is the lesser of my concerns.

So it does it with audio only files too?
You only mentioned video files in your OP.

Yes problem is noticeable with audio files. Hit the play button and player is slow to start. Hit the stop button and file plays on another second or so.

What sound card are you using and with what options in the Sound Setup tab, and Performance tab of config?

The laptop you have is not good enough for videos. 2 gigs of ram these days is enough to run a basic controller without music videos. You need to get a new laptop with higher specs.
