I'm trying to map specific effects on my keyboard and have it so the effects operate independently with each deck. From what I've seen, the syntax in the keyboard mapper is supposed to go something like this....
lets say i want the "Q" key to be the flanger for deck 1 (Left), so I'm supposed to type in (deck 1 effect "flanger" active) with out the parenthesis and then if I wanted "P" to be the flanger for deck 2 (Right) I would type the same except with deck 2 in front.
Problem is....I do that and when I engage the effect it lights up both decks, which isn't what I wanted. Am I missing something?

You used the correct syntax, that should have worked...
maybe try "deck left effect 'flanger' active"
maybe try "deck left effect 'flanger' active"
