Hi
I have found that if i have OVER 500 files in a folder (i think the figure is exactly 500 but may not be), then clicking on the "filedate" column does nothing, it will not sort by that column.
All other columns i use will function correctly, and if i have less than 500 files in a folder then sorting is fine by filedate.
I use this column occasionally to identify files i have updated so i can check or update tags, but in 2 of my folders with a large amount of files i am unable to.

It does work, but it is sorting by the date and time vdj first saw your file and wrote it in the database, unfortunately vdj doesn't read your id3 tags for that information... you could maybe use phantomdj's database manager tool to batch write the information to a different field, but I have not used it for a while so not sure it supports "date created".

You can increase from 500 by downloading the registry tool and changing the number in the MaxFiledateSort field.
Bear in mind 500 is set for a reason, so if you increase it greatly it may affect the performance of VirtualDJ.

thnx for swift response kradcliffe & support staff.
I will look into the registry change as i don't think performance will be an option because the "filedate" field is normally not shown when i'm using VDJ, i only show that column when i have updated files already in the database at home when i'm doing housekeeping, so i would hope that if that column isn't displayed normally that would not have an effect on performance.
Altho if that is not correct please let me know.

I believe if it's active it will cause an effect, but if it's not then I would think that it does not....maybe?
