Hello Virtual DJ Forums,

I am hosting a podcast, but I want to include certain things other than my voice, that is why I picked this program. I am a bit new to this and after playing around with the program, I was wondering if it is possible to record a second persons voice coming into your computer, from a different program. Since I am the broadcaster, I was wondering how to also get rid of the echoing from when my mic is turned on...Sorry about the amount of questions. Is there a skin that is good for broadcasting a talk show or making it easier? I have the Virtual DJ Broadcast edition, and I really enjoy it, I just do not understand it so much.

Hey,

not sure if i understand your questions.

If you are talking about a pre recorded audio file from another person, you have just to put that file onto your computer and then load it on one of the decks and let it run.
Or you can load that file into one of the Sampler slots and let it run, when it is time.
See at Samplers -> http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ%207%20-%20User%20Guide.pdf

BUT, if you want to bring in live a person from another computer into your show, it will be a little bit tricky.

Guess it is more the MIC itself.
Try to put down the speakers volume itself and find the right position (mouth – Mic) or buy a more prof. Mic :-)

It depends more what do you want to make easier ;-)

It boils down to the right amount, and types, of soundcards. For example, a Behringer USB enabled soundcard, with multiple mics inputs, could achieve the effect you seek. Or, if you're talking about via PC, Skype, and the right soundcard combination.

Tear, is Mike in the room with you when you guys podcast? if not , you are broadcasting 2 inputs and i think that's what he wants

No, Mike is @20 miles away. We talk, via Skype. If both people have good quality mics, it sounds like they are in the same room.

ahh i see cried the blind man.....

do you use usb mics like yeti and snowball ?

No. I use a condenser microphone, a Trion CAD6000, and Mike uses a Shure SM58. Along with usb mixer.

Right, thank you for your help. I have been playing around with the controls a bit more, but I cannot find how to broadcast lets say 3 people using ventrillo, mumble, or teamspeak, and being able to record their voices from the program into VirtDj.

As for a skin, there must be something out there to make a talk radio show a bit more seamless. I really do like the default one too. But I wanted to add in certain sounds or effects that I can just hit at any time.

Thank you guys again. I should be going live tommorow if I have everything figured out.

best of luck with your new endeavor

Thank you, I still may be able to use this software. I really want to as welll, because it is an awesome music queuing software. Lining up the sounds that I want to play and such. This is what I was talking about for VDJ:

http://download.cnet.com/Virtual-Audio-Streaming/3000-2168_4-75185424.html?tag=dropDownForm;productListing;pop

This software will allow me, hopefully, to take my VDJ sounds, as well as people talking in a program, and then record that. This way I can get my radio talkshow up. If anyone knows any other ways through virtual DJ to do such a thing...maybe I can buy the pro and make my own skin, but make it more torwards amateur radio hosting.

Thank you for the vote of confidence with my new endeavor!

Hey guys, I hosted my first radio show yesterday and streamed it on facebook. I used the VDJ with a Sparks Blue Microphone, and it went great. I was wondering one thing however about the VDJ software. I use it to simply play my hooks and such, but I need more Sample Space. I like to play samples from either family guy, portal, or other sound clips, is there a way I can make it so there are more samples to play? Or should I just buy the pro to get the skin editor? I need a skin with about triple the amount of sample bars that I currently have.

If anyone can help me on this it would be much appreciated. I found out how to broadcast all the sound on my computer just by clicking on the Stereo mix and working it that way to broadcast.
