Tópico: anyone own an intimidation laser?? quantum series?

looking for anyone who has now, or has past owned an intimidation laser.

i just got me an intimidation illumination quantum-rg laser, and have no manual... i need to know the dmx settings to build a freestyler fixture file but cant find anything on the net, and the stores ive contacted that sell them, either dont know, have no stock, or wont open one to find out for me... soooo... im in a bit of a sticky patch...

i do believe, from past experience, that manufacturers tend to have similar basic dmx values through their range to make for easy use to the end user. however, i cant find any manuals for nay of the other quantum series lasers either...

any help will be much appreciated.... i have discovered so far,

pin 10 on = sound active mode
pin 1 & 10 on = stand alone mode

other than tham im screwed, also anyone any idea how to build freestyler fixture files for lasers??? cuz i hav eno idea at all.. i know martin4 helped me before.. but ive not been around much lately due to new childcare arrangements which now means im a full time single parent :) woop woop... but thats another story, anyway bacl to the point...

anyone?????

My god.. its like that thing never existed.. not a trace of any manual or instruction on the whole interweb.
 
Thats because many independant distributors can go to china an place an order with any name brand glued to a product. It's done all the time. Stanton, Americain audio fpr example have been doing it for many years...


The best thing to do is put it on address 1 and use any 5 channel fixture in freestyler to see what each channel does. I'd be surprised if it used more channels than that but if all 5 channels do something move up to a fixture that uses 12 channels. Try each one and see what it does and write it down. Sometime a chineese fixture uses dip switch 10 and 1 as the starting address for dmx. Others use just 1 as the starting address. Even if you have dip 10 on and 1 and it works with sound, etc once the dmx controller or dongle is plugged it recognizes the dmx protocal automatically. then try find address 001 by using the instruction I gave you. I hope this info helps you. I use many laser and dmx fixtures using freestyler

thanks guys, FMF? your instructions are a little confusing for me, im a bit retarded when it comes to dmx... i will however see what i can find out when using other fixture files, using other files did cross my mind, but ive not found anything that really , well... does anything.. i did ind one that made it do a couple of little biits but no idea what lol
 
BAAAAAHHHHH! FFS! so i thought id ring the manufacturer.... as it happens, intimidation audio has gone bust! grr.....

anyway, im working on a fixture file based on the kam starcluster 5 channel laser and so far its working out okish... this intimidation laser is very similar,

2 colours - 3 colour choices (R - G - Both)
strobe - fast - slow
rotation - left - right
modes - off - auto - sound active - dmx
speed - fast - slow

other than that ive not witnessed it do anything else... no gobos, patterns etc...

soooo, anyone have a pre-made fixture file for any of the 5 channel kam lasers i can take a look at??? ive checked on the freestyler forums, but cant find any. help appreciated..

so far i have got working

mode
strobe
rotation
speed

the colour selection however is proving a littl more diffficult as im nt sure where to enter the values...
 
I would consider asking in the Freestyler forums for someone to help with this if all else fails.They were helpful when I aquired some lights that werent being made anymore.They are very helpful.
 
It's gonna be a pretty common thing that these companies go out of business. Buy from a reputable brand as much as possible. FYI - I see many changes in "KAM" right now. They look like they are slowly getting out of the business in pro audio/lighting. PHONIC no longer sell their so called pro audio equipment, they are going home consumer products at this point. Behringer has a ton of products to offer but no after service or parts. It's a buyer beware time right now.

Anyway, it's possible that your laser only has 4 dmx channels. It looks like a very basic machine. I have a reg/green laser and it only uses 3 channels, enough to really just turn it on or off. I have another laser that uses 24 channels but it's a full color 5 watt unit. And even the dmx can't do 100% of what I expected. I had to purchase quickshow software to take full advantage of it's functions
 
got it sorted now i think.. everythings working but some things seem a little tempremental... rotation for example seems to stop for no reason once i alter the speed :\ .

any views on this?

i did, no replies! as per usual... however im somewhere near... i am curious though as to if vdj will pass beats to lasers for dmx control???
