Tópico: Problems with transfer of database between computers

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi all!

I have two computers, one for backup and one main. The backup runs Windows 7 (it's my office computer, a bit newer than the main) and the main runs XP.

They each have one C: drive and one D: drive, D: drives named the same. Due to space issues I have my personal folders (My Documents etc) on the main computer on the D: drive.

Folder mappings are identical. Now, when I copy the two databases from backup/office to main, none of the database information is shown in Virtual DJ. If I look under Config -> Browser, it says that there are no files on drive D:? It appears as if it cannot read the database file?

If songs are stored at the same location on both computers shouldn't any differences such as adding non-song folders matter because virtual DJ reads the database files and shows songs accordingly?

Or could this have something to to with differences in win7 and XP?

Can anyone please help!

[SOLVED]: Apparently does Virtual DJ fail to load the databases correctly, since both the Virtual DJ folder in My Documents and the database for the D: drive are in the same drive in this case. I've cleaned My Documents and moved it to the smaller C: partition and after that does databases load properly.

If you want to put your database on the D: drive, you can use the VDJ Registry Tool (Download/Plugins/Tools & Drivers) to change the HomeFolder value which is located in the Windows registry.
