Just checked on Opera Mini and on the Galaxy S3 Android browser and they both show a default font. Can only guess it's because the browsers don't support the comic font.

From a personal point of view I think the comic font is a bit tacky to be honest ....

Now I look at your site I do understand why you use comic sans, to mimic a ... comic. Which is a playful effect, not sure though if it might be slightly too much out of context for the stuff you do..

On the text, just read a first paragraph..

You get our 2 speakers and 1 sub woofer sound system, 46" LCD video display to show slide show and play music videos, DMX control LED lighting....

I think thats way too much tech for your audience.. They wanna hear that they get a top of the bill sound system, big video display and spectacular light show, not that its DMX LCD LED WOOFER CONTROLLED

We have a music library of over 10,000 song on cds that been rip to mp3 @320kps to be play on desk top pc and not one mp3 from a p2p network.

Same here, only thing you need to tell is that you have an amazing collection of over 10.000 top quality songs for every occasion. Why on earth get them even to think about DJ's downloading from p2p.. you should be far above that.

Just 3 cents ;P

blue is a terrible colour for a wedding dj, sure it looks fun for kids parties with clowns and stuff, but a wedding is ideally a girls most important most memorable day of their life. You need to make it look nostalgic to inspire that feeling, Black's, cream's and grey's are the colors you should be using and don't be afraid of gradients, Have a look at any photography website in the world and try to emulate that. I also agree with JB on the font, it's not suitable.

put this in your <head></head> section

<style type="text/css">
body
{
background-color:black;
background-image:url(background.svg)
color:#333333;
font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;
}
</style>

If you want to save space on the server it's a good idea to use svg graphics, a bonus is you can write them in xml format so instead of using a couple of hundred kilobytes you can do a background in under 1 kilobyte and use them as you would any jpeg or gif, eg. for a simple gradient for the background. (save the text as "background.svg" with notepad and it will open in any web browser)

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<svg width="1073" height="768" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg">
<!-- Created with SVG-edit - http://svg-edit.googlecode.com/ -->

<linearGradient y2="1" x2="1" y1="0.019531" x1="0.964844" id="svg_2">
<stop stop-color="#000000" offset="0"/>
<stop stop-color="#121212" offset="0.35"/>
<stop stop-color="#000000" offset="1"/>
</linearGradient>
</defs>

<rect stroke-opacity="0" id="svg_1" height="768" width="1073" y="0" x="0" stroke-width="0" stroke="#000000" fill="url(#svg_2)"/>
</g>

It's a very imprecise editor as it's done with javascript, but you just need to generate the svg xml file, save the page then you can manually edit the nodes and values in notepad.

This is the best resource for learning anything about web programming, if you learn just html, css and svg you could create a great looking somewhat interactive website.

Here are my thoughts (underlined are changes):

"Why hire Custom Sound DJ for your event? When you call, you will talk directly to Brian and Chris--DJ's with great personalities who will run your event and give you the personal attention you deserve for your big day. You will get everything we offer with no hidden costs: a top of the line audio system, large 46" video display for _________________, and a spectacular LED light show. We also offer an online wedding planner!

We have an amazing collection of over 20,000 top quality songs for every occasion. If we don't have a song that you want, we can even purchase additional songs--in advance or even during the event--in order to keep you and your guests happy.

Call (xxx)xxx-xxxx to schedule an appointment with Custom Sound DJ. We will make your wedding a night to remember...for a lifetime!

Also -- give ideas for what the video display would be used for (that's the space I put there)...sort of a "hey, I didn't think of that!" moment for whoever may be reading your ad.

That's my two cents' worth.

Well here are my 2 cents as well..... from a design stand point ( i will soon be a graphic designer by education)

the website is hard to read legibility is not the best i suggest the use of SAN SERIFS fonts .... it will make reading the text much more easier (to follow and flow)

also as some have suggested, highly consider changing the color scheme to black/white, grey/white and use less borders. to much borders makes it look tacky and well to some extend child like since it rounds off the coners.. or at least make them less thick a thin border would look nicer.

http://www.christineaustin.com/info/background.html <<<<<< see this is a good example of what a professional wedding Dj site should look like (i know its a photography site but the concept can apply to a pro dj wedding site ) Notice that the main text with the info is in a "san seriff" font
over all it looks clean easy to read and it comes across as a reliable professional Site .. and i am sure that is what you want your visitors and potential clients to feel.

The blue color scheme is best left for financial institution and medical ones.. as it is the prefer color that and the color red.

anyways i hope i was able to provided you with a good critic to enhance your website.

Thank you to BamaDan78 and DJ J-Jeovani I made all the changes to my site www.customsounddj.com But I can't use the SAN SERIFS font cus that font is not available on yahoo site builder so I use arial front the the closest front I can find.
