So I have a gig next Friday and I used to own the Numark Mixtrack PRO until i broke it so I was going to get a new one till I saw the Mixtrack (the original without the sound card)
Just wondering what I usually did was connect the Mixtrack PRO to my laptop using the USB and control VDJ with the controller and connected a green audio jack from the xone:92 mixer (which was connected to the speakers) into my laptops green usual headphone jack, and connected my headphones into the Xone:92 mixer as well
What happened was I only used one channel on the mixer but could still control and switch between songs on VDJ using the volume faders and the crossfader on the mixtrack PRO.
Basically just wondering if i could do the same with the original mixtrack?? would love to save a bit of money and if the only difference is that i wouldn't be able to connect my headphones into the mixtrack then i'd rather do this.
thank you.

Reading your sound setup (cabling) i realize that you were not using the built in sound card of the Mixtrack Pro.
That means that you can purchase the Mixtrack (model without built in sound card) and still be able to control the software using your current sound setup.
PS. I find hard to figure out how you could properly prelisten though with the setup you already use. Unless you route the Master Output of Mixtrack Pro to an input CH of Xone as well.
