Would using an ns7 at home, allow for an easy transition to using full 12 inch turntables ? With the aim of being as versatile as possible, is the ns7 the best choice for this?

It's kind of the same as DJing with 45 records on a turntable without a needle.

The only thing that would be the same would be the vinyl feel. I don't think this should be considered a transitional tool. the NS7 has many modern tools like cue points and looping that are not found on a 1200. You could get used to using these features on a NS7 and be screwed without them on a 1200. If you plan on using the 1200s with a DVS system then it might not mater but if your going old school with vinyl records you will not have the luxury of having the features found on an NS7

I plan on using DVS as a lot of clubs have them installed. For my home setup, it seems that NS7 would give me the best value for my dollar while keeping the skills needed for a DVS system
