Im trying to sort out a friends music collection, tagging album art etc (its in a mess and he's the lazy type)

when i use vd3 to sownload album art that works fine, ive noticed it places hidden jpg in the same folder. i then use a 3rd party s/ware to embed the album art to the mp3, i know it embedded because if i drag just the mp3's (without the jpegg) onto his phone the album art shows up, also if play the tracks on windowd media payer the album art shows up, hower if i remove the hidden album art from the folder then load that folder to vdj it loses the art ?? even more confusing if i rip a cd i can see the album art on the phone wmp or vdj with no hidden jpg's in sight ? so this would suggest that vdj can see the emedded art ??

also vdj does not seem to embed the art when the art when it downloads its why is that it would be a good feature !

VirtualDJ v3.x does not support reading tags from MP3 files.

VirtualDJ v5.x or above is required to be able to read ID3 tags. The latest v7.3 version can read album art and is also able to write tags individually (Not album art yet, but this may be possible in a future version, such v8.)

just use i tunes to write id3 tags and embed album art what i doo i google type the artwork or get it from beatport and just embed it :) i have do it to some of my old 60 rock track like the doors and some old school funk music :) ... but it works great :)
 
ok thanks, soz my question wasnt that clear i was in a rush !

so 7.3 can read embeded art but not write it, so instead it puts jpg in the same folder, if that jpeg is removed vdj stops displaying the art for that track, but i use a 3rd party s/ware to embed the art, which i know works because his phone and windows media player show the art (without the jpeg) but vdj doesnt ?

but vdj will show art from a ripped cd without a hidden jpeg.......... so what am i doing wrong ? i dont really want to keep all the hidden jpg's just for vdj

finding and embeding the art isn't the problem, its getting vdj to display the art without having to keep the jpg, as i say the phone and windows media player will show it without the jpeg so i know its embeded properly ?
 
yeah i do it all the time with i tunes and VDJ will show it corectly and you can delete after the cover art :)
 
so what are you using to embed ?
 
So how do I stop VDJ from producing jpg files for EVERY video played?
I don't want them filling up the already massive directory with unimportant image files.
 
Try turning the option off.
 
Where is it? I don't see it in the Config options.
 
I assume it's "show covers" (disclaimer: I don't use videos).
 
that's just an interface change, the jpg is still created!
