Hey everyone
I've been Djing for the last year and a half, and was wondering what should I charge for a gig.
I DO NOT WANT ANYONE'S PRICES, that's yours not mine. I was thinking about $100 first hour, then add $50 to each hour I play. My equipment all together is worth about a little over $1,000. Would this be a reasonable amount?

Are you any good? Can you read a crowd? Do you have a variety of music? How many people do you think your $1000.00 worth of equipment, can accommodate? Do you have a backup system, or plan? Where do you live? What are others, with your same skill set getting? What are you worth?

Didn't even think about any of those. Skills are decent I would say, and yes I have a variety of music from all genres and years. Suppose like 50-100 people not big. Thanks for the info

Not too mention, your market place drives the price, as much as the above mentioned factors.

Charge what you feel your worth and what the market can bear. You need to do your homework and find out what others are charging for similar services in your area so you dont price yourself out of a gig. you dont need to be the cheapest that will not work all the time. just be competitive and know your worth.
