Tópico: DJ Signature In A Mix

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

So I have been making mixes for a while now and I use a recording of me saying my dj name in the mix obviously it does not sound as professional as I want it to but I was wondering if any one had a suggestion on how to obtain a professional sounding intro like "this is a DJ ____ mix" kinda like one you hear on the radio. And no I dont want to pay for this I pretty good with softwarre like audacity and a bit of albeton. ANY SUGGESTIONS ? VIDEOS would be helpful. THANKS!

Buy some Dj Drop under $ 20 then cut the bass down, but don't kill it in the song and add your drop so pep can hear your NAME,we are so in the music that why you need to interrupt the tone/sound

If doing it yourself there are a few things to remember. first, what is the quality of the mic you're recording with? A good condenser or ribbon mic will always produce the best results, also make sure you create a smooth fade ending the sample if there's any audible noise. Then, the final trick is to find effects to give it that edge and extra punch, for example you could combine a pitch shifter and a phaser, but there are tons that could work just a matter of finding what you like.

yo thanks guys for the suggestions. I don't have a condenser mic, but plan on getting one soon!

1. I want it to sound professional.

2. I don't want to pay for it.

All the time you put into this, mics you want to buy, cost money and time. I don't have a lot of either, so I buy mine from a pro. Let us know how your way turns out.

Wait.......Time and money is the same to me, because if I am wasting time, I'm not making money.

^what he said.

there's more to it than just recording and editing the lenght.
you need a decent microphone it could be as simple as shure sm58 ,
you need a decent audio interface for recording.
it doesnt end there

you need to compress it , the eq it then add reverb and or delays.

posibilities are endless. but you need to make sure you experiment with mic placement . a lot of dj's sounds too thin or too distorted.

garbage in = garbage out. getting a clean recorded track is one of the keys.

you dont become a carpenter overnight if someone handed you hammer.

i used garage band for mine and my Blue microphone Yeti, garage band has good vocal effects that can be added. I also added other effects for fade in and out. Use your imagination and come up with something you like. Make sure you test it, before going live. good luck

What do you mean you don't wanna pay for it? If you have to buy a mic that's decent quality, you might as well PAY FOR IT.

Try www.fiverr.com and search jingles or dj drops or dj signatures. You should come up with a few people that will record a drop for you with your DJ Name and some "In The Mix" or whatever you want for $5. If you want sound fx or something else, it will cost more depending how much they charge and turn around can be less than a week.

Also http://www.musicradiocreative.com/ offers DJ drops/Stabs and Jingles for reasonable cost with select able voices from female to US to UK accents and everything in between, even different languages...

If you want free... I've done some pretty fun stuff with http://www.acapela-group.com/text-to-speech-interactive-demo.html many different voices. Add a bit of compression and reverb (with free audacity) and you are a whole way..

GOod luck!
