Hi Im getting major issues with my Mac, Controller and Program. My Mac is a very high spec, it exceeds my previous Windows Laptop but the wave forms are really choppy, the buttons and faders on the controller lag quite a lot (Pioneer DDJ Ergo) I dont understand why this problem is occuring on a morehigh spec Laptop?? I need help asap as I have a Gig in 2 days and I dont want to lose my residency over this.

I apologize in advance of not being able to offer help as I use a PC but everytime I hear "don't want to lose residency..." because of an issue one is having perhaps you could burn backup CDs of your audio files to play so you can be sure you won't risk losing your gig? Having backups in some form to play is common sense when using a computer.
I recently picked up a new gig so I had to burn backup CDs of some of the video's audio as my previous club backups would not work for me since I went from a dance club format to an open format.

And:

For video, you need a computer with high performance video card with dedicated video memory, i.e: 15" MacBook Pro (The 13" model only has basic Intel HD graphics.) Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/products/virtualdj/index.html
As above, always make sure that you have a backup solution that you can fall back on, regardless of which what equipment you are using. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Do%20I%20need%20a%20backup%20system%20on%20stand-by.html
Also, make sure that you regularly backup your music collection and VirtualDJ database: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Backup%20your%20music%20collection.html

Thank you Jay, I will consider that, but After spending alot of money you shouldn't expect flaws, im not exactly a millionaire, it took me years to save up for a 13inch Mac Book Pro with Intel HD Graphics which is actually higher than my Windows Laptop but my Windows Laptop never had any issues whatsoever. I have had so much stress through all of this and I should be able to rely on a program which I have purchased when my Mac has all the right system requirements. DJing is my only Job and its taken me a very long time to pay for the equipment and software I own so I need to figure out this issue which is oviously not the Mac Book

It's the perception of Mac that's the issue. People "think" they are better than Windows machines when in fact they are just more expensive.
Intel HD4000 is a budget on-chip solution irrespective of whether it's on a mac or not. Apart from that it should run VDJ well and not lag with the controller.

Keith, Im not saying what is better Im just saying the Spec is a lot better!! the intel graphics worked brilliantly on Windows but not on Mac which makes no sense as the Mac's Graphic card is higher

I have that controller also and when I use THE RMX No PB but when I use the djErgo I make the wave forms red/blue and play with a new skin with what you need to work with.

Hi Watkins: I understand your frustration. I had issues with my PC Laptop until I got the kinks worked out. My comment about backup cds was a general comment and especially to use to hold you over while you get your laptop working correctly.
Any DJ should ALWAYS have some sort of back up just in case of an issue. Before I changed clubs I even had a Sansa mp3 player loaded with DJ sets ready to go just in case along with the backup cds.
