Hi all,
I currently have an internet radio show which airs once a week. I record the 2hour set then upload to a server (via website), then the techy guys take over and i think they load into a software that loads sets at scheduled times!?

I have been asked to go live, but am worried about the obvious broadcasting issues as I have not done this before! Not worried about the show/music/framework just the physical broadcast.

My kit is: VDJ LE 7.0.5 mac//NumarkN4//imac this all runs smooth and I have found all the VDJ LE software stable and sound. I have broadband too!

Main questions are:
1. Do I need upgraded software

2. Anyone else broadcast like this? please get in touch?

3. What should I avoid or include?

If I upgrade to the full version how long would a broadcast be, aiming for a 2 hour set!

And don't know why my profile is unlicensed as I have genuine copy of VDJ LE which came with Numark N4 when I purchased it!

You can broadcast as long as you like in versions that support broadcasting.

You are probably showing as an unlicensed user because you haven't registered your LE serial number to your profile yet. To do this, please go to your account page and enter your LE serial in the box provided: http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html
 
i stream all the time, you need a vdj pro for le wont let you stream. also you need there stream info to insert it into your vdj. i rent one from shoutcast and run my own show. when i stream for other stations they give me a stream to use and my sets run for 2 hours a set but i mix live no prerecording.
 
I've broadcast a regular 2 hour show for over 2 years. Have also broadcast for much longer too. Including streaming entire events through Virtual DJ from 8pm thru to 3am!

You'll not have an issue...

I tried to broadcast using virtual DJ with my numark V7 & external mixer, but it doesnt pick up the external crossfader, When I use Serato Itch and simple cast to broadcast its fine. The one thing I noticed was VDJ is not showing my external sound card (internal doesn't have a line in), but simple cast does. Any help or is this just impossble. I was told to set up VDJ with setup as none, seemed strange to me.

Maybe my set up is wrong. I am thinking its that VDJ is not picking up exterenal soundcard which is connect to one of the mixers ouputs. If anyone can help that does this can send me their config setup.
 
ok , due to snow reasons in Canada im actually running a streame live to a club 700 kms away.. the program im using is called ustream the only thing is if you don't get a full version they run adds once and a while... but when you buy it you can skin it~.. its running right now and there djs not going to show.. im getting paid too..
google virtual audio cable and use it as the output if your using a le version you can select it in your speakers under config.. set up as your default . then open ustream and fill out the form. it will allow you to select the input and camara you choose to use . I use to virtualaudiocable as the sound and play video over my sony cam for video of my last gig... have questions send them in p.m ..


p,s le version users cant send pm , but look up the idea on youtube...

ok , ustream has a hidden agenda in my thoughts. They hid adds in the program.. avoid this at all costs.. right in middle of the mix I got a commercial for pick up truck. lmfao.. instead fed it trough a yahoo addon..
