I've been mixing dance music for the past 35 years but when rap got big in the 90s I started to like it better as it was more challenging to beat mix, blending the next tune at the right time was the challenge and I enjoyed scratching, etc. In clubs and parties I still play dance, hip hop, reggae and rock. Just one style can get boring.

Hip hop jus off the fact that I grew up listening to it and have lived the culture all my life.. and kno the history behind the music so its always cool to go back a few years and remember what that record meant at the time and alsowhat I was doin when a song came out. Recently got into electronic dance music, I thinks its the vocals and vocal manipulation I that I like about it it.

Hip hop, R&b, Pop, house/edm

I only play in Gentlemen's clubs and mobile gigs. I can not play one type of music all night. I mix everything, dance, house, rock, heavy metal, reggae, reggae-ton, disco, EDM, freestyle, hip hop, rap, country, old school, new school, the kitchen sink, you name it I play it. I have 46 years of playing for people, and I use it. Somebody likes every song I play. If I play a classic, and you come to me and ask why I'm playing this old shit, I have no problem telling you, that you are not the only one here. There is a reason for every song I play. Most of the stuff I play, I don't even like. No one cares what I like, I play what I know the people will like. If a bus load of guys come in my club with ten gallon hats, (it happens), you will hear a lot of country. There is one thing I won't play, Meatloaf. "I'm sorry I don't have that song. What, a hundred dollar bill, let me see what I can do". All house, all night? All rap? I would be bored to tears.

Hip Hop/ R&B

It's my roots as a DJ and still my bread & butter! While I love all types, Hip Hop/R&B Launched my career!

Hard House from yesteryear. Nothing these days quite has the energy and drive. And its fun to mix, too, because it was designed to mix.

you would do anything else but you won't do that... so to speak. awesome!

my favorite stuff to mix is ANYTHING I don't have to play at work. throat singing for mixing is always a fav.

I don't have a favorite. I like to play all types of genres from Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Tipico, Dembo, reggae, Hip Hop & R&B, Disco, Freetyle, House, Dance & pop, 60, 70's, 80's, 90's etc.. I find it too easy to play just dance, House so I play everthing instead. Where I live its very diverse and the people like to hear everything when you DJ.

I mostly do mobile gigs and play all sorts of music

But if I have to choose, it's 70s music and rock music. First of all because I like the music, but also because it's not programmed, so the BPM is rarely constant. This makes beat mixing more interesting, and often makes it necessary to try out other mix types then just beat mixing

Best regards
Klaus

old school hip-hop
why ?
Tempo, simple 4/4 beats and styles were similar. Makes easy transitions.

90's hip-hop and r&b, becuase it is what I learned to DJ with.

International, from Hip Hop to Hindi, diversity is good to yeah and to me...

I like anything that'll make the ladies move, because... well... I like to watch the ladies move.

noooo really Tim :D yes if you can't get the ladies moving no one will be moving... unless you play some dubstepp or trap to some teens.

I mainly mix top40 remixes but absolutely love mixing some not mainstreem house so it mostly endsup with a mixture of TOP40 and the house I love.

That is just........"Gentlemen making her way onto the stage, making it clap, this is Amber", the most disgusting thing I ever heard.

I'm partial to R&B and Rap or Hip Hop, but I play everything, what I play will depend on the crowd I'm playing for. Rock, country, top 40, Motown, Funk from the 70's, oldies from 50's, 60's, house (old school house and the new age house are fun to play with)

Hip Hop, 90's R&B, Reggae and BREAKBEATS!!!

Boogie Down Bronx!!!
Edenwald PJ's

1st record I ever cut for real was "Ain't no half stepping" from heatwave. It's been heaven from there.

I love funky house as it just gets everyone up and dancing... for me thats what its all about :)
