Tópico: VDJ freezes and skips while using video

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I've had this problem come up just recently and only when running video... after a couple of hours, VDJ will freeze and the music just starts skipping. The only way to stop it is to quit VDJ and restart.. all controls become disabled so you can't even cut the volume so you can go to a backup cd player or other option.... I have only had this problem at venues that only have a VGA outputs to video... can anyone shed any light on this? Settings I should check or change? I'm using PC version and the latest version of VGA along with Numark NS6.

THanks!

i have had that happen when using badly ripped video files. some of old vid's were ripped in avi and mpg format. they will play fine then after a while you notice video starting to stutter and then it will freeze. vobs, mp4 are fine and never had a problem with those formats

If it's only with VGA, I would check my cable. Hook up at home and see if you have the same problem. Jiggle the cable, let it run on auto for awhile, to see if you can repeat the same issue. If not, it may be at the other end, the venue. If you have the same issue, try a different cable. If you still have the same issue, it may be the video card. Could it be the video? I had some I had to get rid of.

My first thought was the cable however it has happened at different venues and using their cables... I'll have to check the tracks it froze on in my history and see what file type it was... maybe there is a connection there with file types and their age...

You say it only happens using VGA, but what type of connection is it that does not give you this issue?
I am guessing S-Video or Composite (i.e. RCA cable.) If so, then the issue could be that when you attach with VGA, you are processing video at a much higher resolution (e.g.. 1024x768, 720p, 1080p) than with the NTSC or PAL (i.e., 480i, 576i) signal you would get when connecting with S-Video or Composite. This will cause your computer to work much harder, especially when using effects and transitions, and even more so with flaky video files, or those that need to be greatly scaled (i.e., ripped from a DVD at 480i or 576i resolution.)
However, you can force your resolution lower in you video card settings (try 640x480) and then let the 'TV' worry about scaling.
Try that and see if it helps at all. If not, then that is not your problem.

I hope that helps,
