I was using the reverse command on my DAC-3 and for some silly reason, it goes back then forward vs ahead in reverse.
Did this change from earlier version of 7 to 7.4?

"Reverse" was always going back, then forward.
"Dump" was the one that would move "forward in reverse"

By default it's mapped to dump while_pressed
if this isn't working, then it could be because you have safe mode enabled in your sound options.

Please clarify for me - what sound options? Inside of VDJ or in the OS? Where can I change this setting? Thank you!

I too am experiencing issues with my dump keys. I'm unsure if it was the install of 7.4 or something else. But I now notice this:
When my PC is not connected to my DJ rig (external sound card, controller), the dump keys I've assigned works perfectly, skipping over material while pressed. But when connected to my rig, the dump key behaves like reverse, then forward (skipping nothing).
I'm not an expert when it comes to options for a PC (being a former Mac owner). It appears that the operating system "sound options" change depending on what sound card is enabled or plugged in. Does that sound correct? This issue has been bugging me a while. Being a middle school VJ, it's important to have such a dump feature! Thank you for your help!
I use key "D"
deck 1 dump while_pressed
and key "L"
deck 2 dump while_pressed

Go to CONFIG -> Sound Setup and make sure that Safe Mode is not ticked.
In some cases with some sound card combinations it can prevent dump while_pressed working correctly. You shouldn't need to use safe mode unless you are experiencing issues with your sound card (Stuttering and similar issues can normally be resolved by optimising your computer for DJ performance: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html

That sounds right.... I'll check.
Reason I used safe mode was b/c during automix, there would be a brief glitch dropout as the 'on deck' track loaded. And it did seem to help.
And this bug has not been squashed for the 7.x line.
No matter what USB sound device I use.

Thank you for the reply and additional advice. I did uncheck "Safe Mode". But I found it under CONFIG | Performances | Sound Card, not under "Sound Setup". I'm using 7.4 Pro...
I'll check later this weekend to see it that solves my issues with dump :)
