Tópico: Track length showing longer than it is!!

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi Guys. I download my music from Amazon MP (have done for a few years). I normally download approx 4 to 8 tracks at a time. About six weeks ago one or two of the tracks when loaded on to VDJ are showing as having an approx length of 25 mins!!! It also takes bout 2 mins of playing the tracks for it to completely fill the graphic bar!
I have checked the problem track lengths on my music on the laptop and they are showing as the normal length of approx 3 mins 30s
This is happening on a regular basis nad has done for some time. The tracks are still able to be played on VDJ but it isannoying when they are showing the lenght as being far too long and I have to wait for the track to play for a couple of mins before getting the graphic bar info.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance

Mike

The tracks you are loading are probably VBR 'variable bit rate'. All music software has trouble calculating the length of a track until it has been properly scanned. The only way to avoid it is to use constant bit rate mp3's.

A work around may be to re-record the VBR tracks into CBR with an audio editing program like audition or audacity (free)

I still can't quite understand why this has just started happening (over the last few weeks) but thanks for explaining that to me.

Problem solved!! I am not sure if anyone else has had this problem or was it just me! I have now sorted it. If you right click on the track and then click on BPM and then on re-analyze. That does what it says! The track then show as it's normal length! I had a look on my system and I had a total of 10 tracks that were showing the wrong length. I just re-analyzed them and they are all fine now.

Thanks for your help :)
