Tópico: Quick observation.

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have been using the Gemini CDJ700's with Virtual Dj for over a year now, and I'm more than happy with their performance, but I have made some observations while using them as controllers.

1. If I use them as HID I don't get any info at all on the cdj's screens. However, if I use them as MIDI, I get the name of the tracks and the remaining time, and I'm able to change the range if I decide to.

2. For some unknown reason, there is a slight delay from the moment you press play to the moment the actual tracks begins to play on vdj. Nothing really serious if you learn to compensate by setting your cue at least two seconds into the song so that when you press play, the song plays right on beat with the other song when you are ready to mix.

Those observations are not in any way meant to persuade anyone form not getting a pair of these units, in case you have been thinking about them. These are just some observations to keep in mind when or if you decide to get a pair. They are great units and I still recommend them, and can't wait to get my hands on some other Gemini products.

does it do the delay with all the buttons? if not you should try mapping 'play_pause' to another button to test it out

also make sure you have the latest firmware on Gemini's website it says it's up to 4.3.

It looks like the lcd text zones aren't built into the definition for HID so it's probably not possible unless you can use both HID and Midi at the same time like with tech_nz's S2/S4 mappings, you should send him a message and ask how he does it.

The delay it's only on the play button.

Yes, I have the latest firmware, I'm always up to date when it comes to any updates. I have been able to run them on both MIDI and HID but after a few tracks, VDJ freezes on me.

Any chance when VDJ freezes, is your network enabled? I ask because I've had similar problems and it ended up being my network, so disabling it solved my problem.

But I don't have a freezing problem. We just did a gig where we ran VDJ on my laptop with my cdj's for six hours straight, and no glitches at all.

That was my problem too, every time i was at a gig there would be no problem, but when I would practice at home it would freeze on me. The answer for me was simple, when I'm on the road my wifi was disabled but when in my studio my network was up and running. So disabling the network solved my problems.

Weird, at home I'm always connected to my wifi and running vdj, and never had a problem. When I'm at a gig, I never go on the network, but still, never had a freezing problem.

Here you say that you have a freezing problem, but later you say you don't have a freezing problem. Can you explain this better?

That's only when I try to run vdj on both MIDI and HID at the same time, nothing to do with the wireless.
