Hi guys.....looking for a new set of home monitors that I can run into my RCA jack sound card. Here's the deal, I need obviously RCA jack compatibility, but I will also be adding them to a powered 125watt sub on the floor......So Im ideally looking for a pair of powered "bookshelf size" or lightly larger speakers that HAVE A BUILT IN CROSSOVER so I dont push the small woofers on the monitors too hard. (my 150 watt sub can take much more than my current 100 wts monitors can w/out distorting).....Any ideas guys?....Im open to any workarounds....No set $$ range...Just getting work around ideas together....Thanks forum.... ; ) I need powered speakers and really dont wanna have to go the whole "external mixer route" for my back computer room, just a simple crossover to knock the low freq's off of the monitors....lol

Hi mate
The first thing that springs to mind is. Why not just purchace an external crossover and work with the speakers you already have. Behringer, Samson and Art all make affordable crossovers that could do the job.
Most bookshelf sized monitors do not have crossovers built in. It usualy works the other way round, ie the crossover is in the sub and the Sub provides a left and right filtered output for the mid/tops.
If your monitors realy are not up to it and you want a monitor that belts out. Have a look at the JBL LSR 2300. I have a set of the 2328P units, seriously good with tons of power on tap. They manage to produce a very healthy bass output on there own. You might end up turning the Sub down or off lol. There is also a smaller version with 5" bass unit that prob works better with a Sub in smaller rooms.
