Hi, All.
I run GameBooster with VDJ, and what a marvellous piece of software it is too.
While it cranks all the performance dials up to 11 (Latency has been reduced to a level so tiny, the crossfader on my MTP feels almost analog) and makes everything run super smoothly, I've noticed my laptop getting extremely hot.
My laptop currently sits elevated on a laptop stand over my mixing desk (hovering over my old analog mixer).
Its worth noting, even when running (boosted) for three hours, VDJ does not miss a beat.
Need I invest in a cooling platform, or are the internal fans enough with the elevated, airy laptop stand? A quick scan of Amazon shows there are plenty available, with prices varying wildly.
Con? Or System Saver?
Discuss.

From all the info got on laptops, yes I will use one all the time. I think its a system saver. The cons, well it might jus look a bit funky lol. Just take a peek here http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/179647/General_Discussion/Average_lifespan_of_a_laptop_.html

Having used laptops for DJing since 2002 I would say it's essential to use a cooling plate, especially doing Video.

If you have a Five Below near you, go there and get one. Thats where I got mine. They have a few different types and the one I got was only $4. It's black, has 2 cooling fans, slides together so it takes up little room, and it has 3 extra USB ports on it and can work as a non powered hub.
