Hi forum, looking for recommendation on a set of home/studio monitors (I also use my "studio monitors" for listening to my CD collection, but I can adjust my speakers via the GUI EQ in my VLC player on the PC, ...so having true "flat response" monitors is not a concern)....anyway I have 85 wt. powered 5 in. monitors now. I like it LOUD so I'm thinking of moving into the 125 to 150 wt. range. I also, currently daisy chain a 100wt., 10in. sub off of my monitors. My monitors are RCA hookups with the sub wired to an extra set of posts on the back of one of the speakers and then the speakers wired (via simple speaker wire to each other. So all of it is "Daisy Chained." I'd like to keep this config, although XLR's to RCA hookups would be ok too. I dont want to go the full fledged amps and a mixer. I just listen to music or use a controller, USB to the soundcard with them)......I need LOUD monitors WITH a built in crossover, RCA preferable with an extra outlet/posts to wire my sub off of one of the speakers (like I have now).......Any advice anyone can offer is appreciated. Brand recommendations and links are welcome or tell me where I'm going all wrong...lol..... I just need high volume at a reasonable SQ and a X-over to allow for a higher volume w/out the bass overwhelming smallish monitor woofers........Thanks Fam. ; )
