Hi guys. I'm running a "older" (4yrs or so) PC on Win7 along with my trusty, antique, Herc. RMX.... lol......I'm strictly a hobbyist and use VDJ for audio mixing only. I currently run VDJ on this PC that I also use as an "everyday machine." I just turn off Wi-Fi along with terminating any "running processes," ie. A/V software, etc. and currently have no latency issues, performance problems, etc......What I am wondering is with all of the new features to be added to VDJ 8, will my machine still be up to the task for Audio only mixing? I may have missed it, or it may not have been noted yet, but what are going to be the SUGGESTED, NOT MINIMUM requirements for running VDJ 8 strictly for Audio mixing? If anyone can point me to a thread or offer insight, I would greatly appreciate it....Thanks guys ; )

Dude I'm praying my 6-7 year old Dell will be fine with VDJ 8. It's been rock solid for me and I plan on rocking it with XP until it croaks.

Atomix have said it runs more efficiently about a year ago so you should be good, but upgrading wouldn't hurt if you use video or effects. I would think most of the processing power is wasted on the visuals but that will do done with the video card in VDJ8 giving your cpu a little more room to breathe and focus on the audio.

I've been asking the same question ever since the announcement and hadn't seen an answer in any thread I asked in. actual system specs for minimum vs recommended for a new software build that require people to spend money on upgrades? would be really nice to know.

they said it in one of the videos

Minimum and recommended system requirements can not be determined until the final product is ready. Most computers that are on the market currently will most likely be well over the minimum specs required.

that is good news in some respects, but I still might need to buy a new home rig since the one at the club is about a light year ahead of mine.
the geek in me is drooling at making upgrades anyhow. ;-)
