Here are a couple Tid Bits of FYI
make sure it doesn't have a Intel HD graphics Card. Read on here that it does not meet the specs. There are work a rounds however.
Make sure that you are buying a computer that hooks into your hardware, controllers. etc.. And or Controllers and what not You Plan to purchasing. And their specs.
Such as A FireWire Port (a few controllers have them such as the Stanton SCS 1D and SCS 1M pretty sick controllers but besides the point)
Or An Express card slot for expansion devices that won't work with with USB. (again depends on your demands)
Either Firewire or Express Card slot you are going to have to look towards Professional/Business Grade laptops, But unfortunately It appears even those lines of laptops are dropping the Firewire and express card ports
Also, Make sure you don't need something like a VGA port. Nothing is more Frustrating than having to plug in an additional. As some laptops are no longer including a VGA port but just a HDMI.
Try to find a Laptop with more than two USB ports (nothing is more frustrating than you got it having to add a hub)
Again it all depends on what sort of gigs you are doing. What you plan on running via your computer.
For most people it depends on your budget as well.
I am a fan of DELL computers, and Toshiba Computers. But you can always get a bad apple regardless what ever brand you buy.. (Not an Apple Pun)
