Long time Virtual user. Most systems we have are PC's. With a few MACs. External Hard drives are formatted to MAC & PC.
Some details about the issue first. We put a MAC that was in our office into a system and sent it out on jobs. It was fine foe a long time. Suddenly the videos and sound was becoming choppie. I took the apple and had it completely wiped clean and installed the new operating system. Uploaded the most recent Virtual DJ. System works much better. Using the same external hard drive. I can click on any folder in the external hard drive and play a track.
OK, so the issue;
If I search a track that I know I have, it does not come up. I tried to ADD TO SEARCH DATABASE, but it does it to quick for it to add a whole drive. And I did it with 1 folder at a time instead of the whole drive and its the same thing.
When I go into config on virtual, Browser tab. Then to the database area, When I click on the DRIVE: drop down it just says ROOT. I think it should give me an option on which hard drive I would want.
I need to add these track to this computer.
Please Help

If the external drive is PC NTFS formatted then Mac will not be able to write to it, so cannot create the database if it doesn't already exist or save any changes to it.
Please see our FAQ pages:

If the drive is already formatted to exFAT or FAT32, then check its permissions to ensure that VirtualDJ can write to it to create/modify the database: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ%20Folder%20Permissions.html

The Hard Drive was formatted as a MAC & PC hard drive. It has been used with this MAC and Virtual DJ for a few years with no issues. I see the Hard drive and can use it on virtual. I can open files on virtual and play them. But can search them.
I can't change the Drive in the config/browser tab. All it says is ROOT.
What should I do?
Leo
Thank You
