Most often these issues come from an under powered computer, or one that has not been optimized. Check this link out http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20PC%20Performance%20Issues.html

What exactly do you mean by "clipping in and out"?
The standard meaning of the world clipping in audio terms is distortion caused by overload i.e. playing too loud.
The solution is to lower the playback level.

If the volume is fading in/out on loud sections, then this could be due to the gain for the track being set too high and triggering the limiter.

by clipping I mean as the music on each deck plays it stops and goes for a very short time then plays stops and goes again.

If there are small gaps in the audio then it's likely to be your ASIO buffer setting that needs adjusting. Make the buffer larger.
If you're saying that the track actually stops playing then that's another issue.

The ASIO buffer adjustment is usually found in the driver utility provided by the manufacturer.

where is the driver utility. I think this is a latency problem but I cant correct this.

I found that killing restore fixes lots of issues, but if you have a problem, could be a bigger headache than you need.

You can usually access the manufacturer's ASIO control panel by clicking on the ASIO Config button in VirtualDJ's CONFIG -> Sound Setup.
