Try to change the virtual memory in a different partition.
I do it.....and I have no problem.....for the moment...

I think that the reason for this helping you is that your virtual memory file was fragmented. When you defrag your HDD, the defragmenter doesn't tuch the page/swap file, so it remains in fragments. There are programs that defrag the page file, but personaly I don't trust them too much. A simple thing you can do is to turn of page file before you defrag. After you're done turn it back on and it will be created as one big chunk.
