ok guys back up hd named g drive.
put copy of xml file on hd replaced all c to g but vdj still giving a new xml file.
why is this happening and why cant i use xml file i made g as all info i there

Did you name it correctly? The external database has a different name.
Internal = VirtualDJ Database v6.xml
External = VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml
Internal = VirtualDJ Database v6.xml
External = VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml

The internal DB has a absolute file location for entries, e.g C:/YourPCName/Users/Music/Whatever.mp3
as where an external DB has a relative location eg RootOfThisDrive/Music/Whatever.mp3
I honestly am unsure if your set up would work, I don't think it would, but it might.

Why not copy your files through Vdj and you will have all copied, with a new database, cuepoints etc....

ok just updated on file info and renaming xml and seemed to work guys
