Been using this product for a number of years at work and now bought it for my own computer at work too.
There are some things I find I would like to make it easier to use or just little nit picky things...
I use it in a single deck kind of mode as it is an entertainment club and we talk during song changes and play all types of music, so I don't mix.
1- a way to 'unload or clear a deck'
accidently loading second deck is a bummer as it just sits there and flashes at me...lol...no way to unload that deck ever. Annoying as heck.
2- 'reset already played tags while program running'
we do a switch out for shifts and use the same computer. Only way to reset 'already played' is to close the program and restart. This forces us to use a second computer just to get through this. And with a number of drives hooked up with a 200,000 plus songs and vid effects it does take a long time to load program.
I would rather be able to just click a button or drop down and reset them all for the next dj.
3- 'crashed program resets already played tags'
Would be nice when starting program to be able to click something when it loads, or after it loads, that allows already played in last 7 hours or so to be retagged as played. Nothing is worse than a crash and then reloading and no longer having anything tagged as played. Forced to add a tag to browser 'last played'.
This works with number 2 above, as both issues are intertwined.
4- text file viewer
Probably the only one who would want this, but I use playlists for entertainers and the vdj program takes up all the screen. It would be nice if I clicked a text file in the browser (and the browser showed them), the text would come up where the playlist files are located. In fact, a tab for playlist and text would be great, just like the browser has multi tags like effects, browser, etc..
5- more advanced file operations system
Ability to go into 'edit/move' mode and move folders and files around easily. I like to use vdj to go through my new music and move to folders i desire for them...but having to individually move them, after going through drop down selections for move, file locations, drives, etc....too tedious to be used at all. And no way to move folders.
6- A new small row of 'most used' browser filters'
I have a few that are always listed, but now and then use things like drive, last play, etc...but using the drop down to add and remove it is a pain, especially when in a rush. It would be great to be able to just click 'last play' and have it show up in the browser and then unclick it when done.
There is not much room to add many tags and still be able to read anything. (smaller screen at club)
7- A 'play next song' button
when using autoplay and single deck, I have an option to double click to go to next song...which breaks the mouse down the more you have to click and has caused issues before. Easy to click wrong song, etc... A single button, on each player, depending on which one you are using, that says 'next' and it will do it.
8- multi cued stop/start points inside of songs/videos
Many videos have those stupid skits at the beginning and end. They are easy to select end and start points. But so many vids have spots where the song stops and some little skit is presented, then the song restarts. It would be nice to tag start/end points for these spots and have the program autoskip over them as if I were to just move the song over it manually.

Nothing funner than adding a drive to computer and VDJ completely freezes...still plays, but nothing can be done.
Nothing better than trying to grab a song as one is ending only to find drive has 'spun down' and now entire program freezes (but still plays) as it waits for the drive. Not good is song ends while waiting. This happens.
This also causes great issues when using 'file info' where it causes the file info screen to come up and sometimes cannot be closed and blocks use of program....
not sure if program can do anything about it, but it can be crushing to the crowd if done at wrong time. This is a major issue for me and a big reason I keep a laptop ready to go. When the file info thing freaks, it usually stays freaked out for a while, sometimes needing a hard restart of the program. This can also put the info behind the screen, but still make it the program usable...
10- way to make splash screen and other markings tailored to my club or dj name instead of basic virtual dj stuff.
11- playlist section should not have songs go all the way to bottom..(or have an option for it not too).
If the playlist had a good half inch clear at bottom, and auto scrolled upwards when adding songs, it would be easier to place songs at end of list when cue is full... right now it is kind of a guess until you scroll it down manually
12- options for what a double click means in browser
right now, it autoloads the file into the empty deck. I dont use second deck.
Suggest an option for doublelcilick like 'add to bottom of playlist' , add to blank deck, etc....
I got some more, will add some later.... just suggestions from a user.

The best way is to prevent your drive spinning down in the first place. If it spins down then we have to wait for it to spin up again before we can access it.

keyboard shortcuts? we disabled them since it was so easy to just 'stop' music while searching..lol
not using a controller either.
be nice to have a couple buttons on automix area that could be mapped...

2 open a second instance of VDJ while the first is still running.
3 see 6 use the last played field in the event of a crash
4 - Just make a playlist , I assume you mean people, copy a music folder with tracks in it and re name the tracks to your running order
eg
1 9pm Dave and his wombat
2 9:30 yodaling
3 etc
5 You can drag and drop files into different folders by holding Ctrl at the same time, for entire folders make a new folder in your desired location and select all the files you want to move and Ctrl drag and drop
6 leave all the fields in the list all the time but shrink them down with a drag, a double click on the edge will expand them.
11 & 12 set up a hot key with the command playlist_add 1 click and 1 hot key and your choice will go automatically to the bottom of the list
regarding 7 removing the chance of screwing up delete all the hot keys except the F1-F12 keys (these are never used for typing) also Ctrl and F1-12 is safe also shift and F1-12 keys are too.
If you monitor is small this command is your friend

if I could add two more thoughts...and these do greatly affect the use of the program.
1- the intro cue point, it would be nice to be able to move this when the song is playing...
2- make the cue points, end and start, have a larger balloon above or below the track to 'easily' select it and be able to move it. I no longer play with the end cue point while DJing since it is so easy to miss that little teenie line and hit the song instead, causing the music to go to end of song.
A nice larger area below or above allows for easy stress free moving of those little itsy bitsy real thin lines...and gets rid of the accident that does happen.

Not sure if you're aware but a complete re-write of the software is taking place.
Anyone's guess when it will be released but it may be worth waiting for this to come out as it will incorporate many new features.

It's a 2 minute job to change the XML to set the play button to unload on right click instead of reverse which seems to be a default setting I never ever use. I do that to all the skins I use.
