hi all

the headphone socket on my mc6000 has stopped working....

after a quick strip down and investigation, it seems he the audio is getting to the headphone amp in (ic611), hooking my bench test amp into the signal path here gives a good clean signal.

looks like ic 611 ia a all in one stereo amp, its a tiny chip, surface mount, cant seem to trace the number on it...

I do not think the schematic diagrams and the bom are in the public domain.
Furthermore, assuming that the smd device is faulty is convenient to use hot air desoldering to do a good job. I suggest you contact support denon

the fix is simple, replace the chip, done many jobs like this , can be done with a standard soldering iron , its only a 16 pin device, looking at components around it , it seems to be a standard op amp, just dont seem to be able to find the part number or spec.

If i cant find a replacement , I will have to build a small board with a standard op amp on , and piggy back it,

IME Denon won't help if you ask them for info. They'll expect you to send it in to one of their official repair centres.

I struggled to find info on a problem I had with the pitch control on a Denon HS5500. They just won't play ball. I ended up ordering the service manual from Charles Hyde www.chsinteractive.co.uk

Did you try using a magnifying glass and a flashlight and looking at the chip at different angles to see the markings. Many small chips I seem to have to do that these days
