Hi everyone! I am new to this community and just started getting into DJing about 10 days ago. So it feels amazing to be part of this wonderful community - thank you all!!
I have read the entire user manual, had google by my side, and looked into tutorials on YouTube, all helped amazingly (is that a word? lol).
I do have a few additional "How-To" and "Is it possible to" type questions and would absolutely adore and be grateful forever to anyone who can help me out! Even if you don't feel like explaining it all but you do know a PRECISE SPECIFIC SOURCE that will elaborately answer my question(s) I will be just as appreciative :) :) :)
So here are my questions:
1. Is there a way to organize the browser list of songs so KEY comes first and then BPM? Like for the key of 5A, all of its songs will be in ascending order of BPM.
2. How do I get the software to automatically transition into the next song at corresponding cue points? Is that possible?
3. And if it is possible, can I record the mixes in automatic mode to start exactly at the beginning and end right at the end?
4. How do I use the loop function for more than 32 beats?
5. Can I edit songs - like take parts out and stuff? Or is that exclusively audio editing programs like Audacity?

Thinking of upgrading to VDJ pro? You'll get way more benefits off that!
1. Not that I know of. Maybe VDJ8 will offer more detailed organization.
2. When automix is active, there will be a start and end marker that you can adjust to where you like.
3. I've never used auto record. You could just manually start/stop your mix?
4. Go to configurations -> mappers tab -> then click keyboard or your midi device -> now add a mapper by clicking the + at the bottom, click learn learn and the keyboard button or midi device button, then under action learn put loop 32, 64, or anything else
5. You would want to stick to any editing programs like ableton, cuebase, pro tools, etc for detailed editing. There are some effects which offer "vocal removal", which don't always work that great.
Good luck

for the first question, you go on the line "filename, bpm, year, ..." after you do a right clic then choose "order"
Clic on filename, with up and down you can give the order....
For the third, choose auto start in record/config then start recording

1. Click and hold BPM, and move it to the position you want. If you click on key, it will arrange in ascending or descending order. The same with all the other headers.
2. Put a track in player, right click the BPM tab, next to the BPM. Select edit auto mix, and you can set your intro and exits. There may be an easier way to actually set cues, in our next version, that will be released when it's finished. If you were a pro user, you would get that update free.
3. You can auto start, but have limited recording, with your version.
4. Midi mapping is only allowed with supplied controllers, or with the pro version.
5. There is editing available, in the soon to be released Pro Version 8.

To no. 1:
I don't think that kind of grouping is possible.
If I understood right, you meant that kind of order:
5A - 120
5A - 120
5A - 121
5A - 123
6A - 73
6A - 98
6A - 112
7A - 99
7A - 101
7A - 101
7A - 109

you can order by two columns, you just need to click one then the other there's a trick to it though. I think you need to click the bpm then the key.
Also for changing the loop size you can also use
half: loop 50%
double: loop 200%

Yes you can get that order, but 7 only allows 32 beat loop, unless you map it, for more. He does not have that capability.

I have read the entire user manual
That's good to know.
I'd just like to highlight your comment because Atomix staff say "nobody reads the manual", and don't seem particularly bothered about all the info that's currently missing from it.
Atomix, please note. People do read manuals!

Groovin - manual readers are in the massive minority!! Sure there will be some who do read it. Like 'some' people win the lottery. :-)

We all read the manual!!

You are entitled to your opinion of course
But so am I.
The difference being, I have spoken to some of the support team and you will be astounded how many queries they get on a weekly basis.
Maybe saying the minority, was a slight exaggeration but in no way does every user read the manual.

All I have left to say is if there is delay in release just because a few want a king size manual for V8...well..there's going to be some very upset people! :-)
