Tópico: new website - first impressions - Page: 7

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I never understood why some thread pages put me to 5.5 or 6.5 or 2.5, versus the actual full page in the thread??

If you have visited that thread before then it will default to the last post that you will have read. If wen't directly to Page 6, then you would miss what was on the end of page 5. Likewise it would be annoying to go to page 5 if there was only one post to read at the bottom.

Its just a time saver.

Likewise if you've never been to a thread before it will default to page 1 - even if there is 20 pages.

I pondered that conclusion. Awesome though, thanks for the quick reply

Page is getting better and better :)

will make those auto shrink to fit a mobile width, but yes the avatar/controller icon column is the one that still eats a little space when scaled down far far

I logged into my PC to get the latest milkdrop update. Usually I have a shortcut that goes directly to the forum. I wanted to see how the front page looks, so I went there instead. I was able to login and check it out. When I went to the download dropdown, it went under the flash video. Same with other dropdowns. I am using IE 11.0.8 on Win 7 Ultimate. The dropdown works fine in the forum.

I know the IE is a big bug, but some people, like me, are sometimes forced to use the IE.
And if I click on the buttons for My Account, My Home Page or My Message nothing happens.

Actually, after reading this thread, it just dawned on me. The new forum, has caused me to have eye strain, and a mild headache. I am no longer able to stay on as long as I used to. I really liked the way it looks, but since it has changed, I have had these problems. Then again, it may be that there is so much more stuff to read since the pre-release. I have definitely felt the difference.

What browser are you using?
I figuered that the font is way better with Firefox than with IE.

Chome works wonderful too...;-)

AMAHM, I agree with the brightness, dependant on your browser you can get an addon to recolour sites, I've darkened all the bright bits from day 0. So I don't know how it looks now.

now that I finally get a chance to step away from playing with this new toy that's been blowing my mind...

if I have any one slight issue with the new site design its gotta be the border around the images uploaded. sure they're pretty... but aren't they just wasted space that could be used to display a larger clearer image?

and DON'T say its not the size that matters or Renee' will laugh so hard she'll hurt something.

other than that. pretty slick if a little monotone with all the grey

Good job norman!...good job everyone! (why did I say that at this point? lack of words to say....except...good work...:)

hehe thanx thanx ;)

Rune,

Can you please fix the mobile view. Any page containing an image cuts off and won't scale properly and is unreadable on a mobile.

Thank you

Keith

(if it's not been requested already)

Bigger skin preview images on the skin download pages, or the ability to click on the small preview to bring up a larger image.

yeah .. will modernize those pages too ;)

Don't know if this is too much to ask for but...Can you seperate the link parts away from each other a little bit? What I mean is where the links are 'VirtualDj forums' drop down 'General Discussion' drop down 'New Website', as an example. I'm on a smartphone and they are so close together I keep hitting wrong link. Also with posts pages.

Another reason is it makes me feel like I have big fingers which I don't lol.

Agreed. That area is a bit small compared to the rest of the page.

The same is true of the page navigation number and forward/back arrows. They're very small.
