I'm sure many have experienced the bad ones.in my carrier as a musician/dj friends came and went.but this is about a friend proving that he knows who you are.how many here have that one friend that really counts?...I losed one recently to cancer.could'nt had happened at a worst time.right after we disagreed on lifestyles and I moved 60 miles away..but while in the hospital he called me and apologized.two days later he died.then there is another friend I have.one that I've met in 1991 while he was going to Cal State to get his english degree.dude played bass,but really well.in fact we call him "jaco" after WEATHER REPORT"S first Bassist who died shortly in his carrier but went on in history as the most amazing bassist ever to be.anyway we both had our struggles,he helped me many a times and I did the same back.when he met me he had never seen a midi studio and mine was the first.he picked up on it and started buying some gear...I respect this dude a whole lot.why? he's chicano from east L.A. who made inlisting in the GREEN BERETS!,in order to pay for his college,got his engligh degree,and is now a school teacher.but still plays and composes music on the internet with other musicians.meanwhile I had loaned him $170 back in '98 that we both forgot about but...he emailed me recently and sayd that he was doing some spring cleaning and if I wanted some things.I sayd sure "what?" he drove with his wife and newborn son 60 miles to see me for the first time in 3 years....and to give me something.a pair of ALESIS STUDIO MONITORS,ALESIS RA-100 stereo power amp,a MACKIE FX8 8 ch. usb mixer,a Samsung 20' monitor (my Vizzo 32in smart tv is too big for some jobs ) a monitor wall mount,and a box full of monster cables lol...I am so honored by his actions (and so glad he finally payd me back for the Loan ).but he also asked me to be his son's God-uncle :) this blew my mind, but made feel loved by someone who is very dedicated and who I respect as a person...

I...who have everything ( welll...not everything but...a lot of gear...) yet I didnt have a small multi-track mixer that fits and can be moved around from one room to another ,my old Alesis 1622 (from the same era as these monitors and amp) is too big for where I am at this moment and so was my previous speakers.I did'nt even tell my friend that I was thinking of or needing this stuff,and was going to start looking on ebay ,when he emailed me and asked me if I wanted it...and like I sayd,dude is not some lame guy.I respect this guy and I'm so honored...
so nobody here has any friends that are proof that you mean something to them?...man ...thats sad...;)

I have many friends that I care about but they don't have to give me gifts.
Friendship is more then giving gifts....... Now if you feel you must give or get gifts from friends that's sad ;-)
