trying to find out how to turn off the limiter in version 8,as i cannot find it under options and then audio,any help would be great.

Limiter can not be turned off. Search/see numerous complaint threads.

If you havn't done this allready try changing the "zeroDB" in "settings" / "audio" to avalue of 0.750000
